Business Analyst – Data & Big Data (Banking)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Banking, Data, Big Data, and Data Warehouse initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Architects, Data Engineers, Solution Architects, and Project Managers to deliver enterprise data transformation projects.
This role requires strong banking domain knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and hands-on experience in gathering business requirements for enterprise data platforms, data migration, analytics, and big data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements for enterprise data initiatives.
- Conduct requirement gathering workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
- Prepare BRDs, FRDs, User Stories, Process Flows, Use Cases, and Functional Specifications.
- Perform business process analysis, gap analysis, and impact assessments.
- Analyse source-to-target data mappings and support data migration initiatives.
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Architects, Developers, QA teams, and Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the design and implementation of Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Big Data, and Analytics platforms.
- Define business rules, data transformation logic, and validation requirements.
- Support SIT, UAT, defect triaging, and production validation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder communication.
- Ensure solutions comply with banking, regulatory, and data governance standards.
Mandatory Skills
- Minimum 5 years of Business Analysis experience within Banking or Financial Services.
- Proven experience delivering Data, Big Data, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Migration, or Enterprise Data Platform projects.
- Strong understanding of banking data domains such as Customer, Accounts, Transactions, Payments, Risk, Finance, or Regulatory Reporting.
- Experience with Data Mapping, Data Lineage, Data Quality, and Data Governance.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyse and validate large datasets.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, HDFS, Spark).
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of regulatory reporting and enterprise data governance.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline
