About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives in the education sector. This role is responsible for expanding market presence, driving revenue growth, and strengthening partnerships with schools, institutions, and government bodies.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting TOEFL test products while supporting the performance of teaching and test centers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand market presence and revenue streams as the Thailand representative of ETS.
- Identify and prioritize target markets, focusing on local schools and educational institutions.
- Drive revenue growth across teaching center operations.
- Identify new service opportunities to expand offerings and attract additional student segments.
2. Sales & Client Acquisition
- Prospect and engage schools, institutions, and potential partners to promote TOEFL Primary and TOEFL Junior tests.
- Conduct professional sales presentations and consultations to deliver tailored solutions based on client needs.
3. Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with school administrators, educators, and policymakers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of testing and preparation services.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure efficient administration of test and teaching center operations.
- Provide operational support to enhance overall center performance.
4. Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct market research to assess demand for English proficiency testing services.
- Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and market developments to inform strategy.
5. Proposal Development & Presentation
- Develop customized proposals and presentations highlighting the value of TOEFL Primary and TOEFL Junior.
- Present to school leaders, stakeholders, and government agencies (e.g., OBEC) to secure partnerships and contracts.
6. Target Achievement & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales, partnership, and revenue targets.
- Track KPIs including client acquisition, revenue growth, and market share expansion.
- Adjust strategies proactively to ensure consistent target achievement.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on testing requirements, exam formats, and educational trends.
- Participate in professional development to strengthen expertise in testing services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Education, Marketing, English, or a related field.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or partnership management (education sector preferred).
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience working with schools, institutions, or government education bodies (e.g., OBEC) is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with TOEFL (Primary, Junior, iBT) or other English proficiency assessments is an advantage.
- Strong strategic planning and market development capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in Thai and English.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market insights.
- High level of initiative and independence in managing clients and projects.
- Willingness to travel locally for school visits and client meetings.
- Comfortable working weekends when required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and digital meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet).
- Strong collaboration skills, particularly with operations teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
