1. Operational Launch & Strategic Leadership
Business Unit Setup: Lead the end-to-end operational rollout of a new business unit, including service structuring, pricing frameworks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage specialist stone servicing technicians and field operators, fostering a culture of quality craftsmanship and safety.
Equipment & Supply Management: Source, acquire, and manage inventory for stone care systems, specialized tooling, sealants, resin/epoxy formulas, and restoration machinery.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site works comply with site safety standards, RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), and chemical handling (COSHH) regulations.
2. Business Development & Client Relationship Management
Client Retention & Monetization: Capitalize on our existing project supply pipeline to upsell post-completion maintenance packages and warranty extensions to developers, architects, main contractors, and private homeowners.
Account Management: Build and maintain relationships with facility managers, estate managers, fit-out contractors, and interior designers.
Commercial Growth: Oversee division budgeting, P&L management, job costing, quoting, and revenue forecasting to hit annual growth targets.
3. Technical Diagnosis & Defect Management
On-Site Inspections: Conduct thorough technical site visits to inspect, diagnose, and document defects and natural stone issues (e.g., efflorescence, staining, etching, micro-cracks, chipping, joint failures, thermal shock, sealant degradation).
Remediation Strategy: Formulate material-safe, effective repair plans (e.g., honing, polishing, resin injection, color-matching, poultice extraction, repointing).
Warranty & Claims Assessment: Evaluate whether stone issues stem from substrate movement, installation errors, environmental exposure, or improper maintenance, delivering fair, technical, and authoritative assessments.
4. Required Qualifications & Experience
Construction & Natural Stone Knowledge: Minimum 5+ years of experience in the stone industry, architectural masonry, surface restoration, or high-end construction defect remediation.
Business Leadership Track Record: Demonstrated experience in managing a business unit, department, or operational project team with P&L accountability.
Client & Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of managing client expectations, closing commercial deals, and resolving disputes constructively.
Operational Drive: Hands-on experience managing field teams, site logistics, and workflow scheduling.
Commercial Acumen: Competent in job pricing, margin control, contract terms, and proposal preparation.
