About This Opportunity

As a C++ Infrastructure Engineer at Align Technology, you will play a key role in advancing critical R&D software projects that drive innovation in our clear aligner technology (Invisalign®) and 3D scanners (iTero®). This role requires strong programming skills, deep familiarity with build tools, and a passion for innovation. You will contribute to maintaining and improving our software infrastructure, ensuring high-quality and efficient build processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update infrastructure code to stay aligned with the latest versions of third-party libraries.
  • Synchronize infrastructure and application code in a timely manner.
  • Manage and update third-party libraries as needed.
  • Set up and maintain Bamboo build plans for application code.
  • Optimize build times through various techniques and continuous improvements.
  • Review and address code vulnerabilities by collaborating with the development team.
  • Identify reusable code components and refactor for efficiency and maintainability.
  • Work within development environments such as Windows with MS Visual Studio, Git, Atlassian JIRA, and Bamboo.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader Product Research and Development team to ensure seamless infrastructure support.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience building large-scale systems using tools such as MSBuild, CMake, Ninja, gcc, Make, or Bazel.
  • Proficiency with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Travis CI.
  • Strong experience with Git version control; BitBucket administration is a plus.
  • Experience with package management tools, ideally Conan Package Manager.
  • Automation skills for build and deployment using scripting languages (Batch, Shell, Python).
  • Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows system administration.
  • Experience with code scanning tools such as PVS Studio, Snyk, CheckMarx, SonarQube, or Clang-tidy.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills within a team environment.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk.
  • Working knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu) and Docker containers.
  • Understanding and application of software optimization techniques.
