Job Description

Lead CAPEX procurement activities for Thailand/Asia-based plants and act as the primary procurement interface to Asian suppliers, with a strong focus on China, ensuring competitive sourcing, supply reliability, and compliance with global CAPEX governance.

Job Scope:

  • Lead CAPEX sourcing for Thai plants (large & complex projects)
  • Develop and manage an Asian (China-focused) supplier base
  • Execute and lead strategic tenders and negotiations
  • Act as procurement interface between plants, Eng. & global team
  • Mitigate supply, quality, and execution risks from Asian suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with global CAPEX procurement standards
  • Coach and oversee junior CAPEX procurement resources
  • Manage end-to-end procurement for CAPEX projects in Thailand plants.
  • Lead sourcing of process equipment, utilities, automation, and services from Asian suppliers.
  • Interface with Chinese OEMs, integrators, and EPCs.
  • Coordinate with global CAPEX procurement on strategy, standards, and governance.
  • Support early project phases to influence specifications and sourcing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum requirement). A master's degree or professional procurement certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years of relevant professional experience in CAPEX procurement, project procurement, engineering, or supply chain roles within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proven experience managing large CAPEX projects, leading supplier negotiations, and working with Asian suppliers is required. Exposure to Chinese suppliers and factory environments is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in English is required
  • Advanced negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Strong commercial and financial analysis capabilities.
  • Stakeholder management with engineering and operations teams.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills; structured and detail-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel within Thailand and occasionally within Asia for supplier visits and project support.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, international business environment.
