Job Description

1. Job purpose

The Chief Representative of the Cooperation Office shall be responsible for:

  • Representing VietinBank in investment promotion activities, investment promotion conferences, seminars, and related events in Thailand.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with:
  • Local government authorities involved in investment promotion activities;
  • Strategic partners, including financial institutions, investment funds, major FDI corporations, and other relevant organizations;
  • Vietnamese diplomatic representative agencies in Thailand, such as the Embassy of Vietnam, Vietnam Trade Office, VCCI, and other relevant agencies.
  • Coordinating the organization of investment networking events and conferences at VietinBank's request, after the Representative Office has been licensed and established.
  • Applying for a license to establish VietinBank's Representative Office from the competent Thai regulatory authority.

2. Key responsibilities

2.1. Investment promotion and development of Thai customers

  • Identify and approach Thai enterprises with potential investment plans in Vietnam.
  • Identify early-stage needs for new investments, production expansion, and M&A transactions into Vietnam.
  • Coordinate with VietinBank Head Office and branches to provide advisory services and promote financial products and services.

2.2. Development of the Thailand investment support ecosystem

  • Build and expand a partner network, including investment promotion agencies, law firms, investment consulting firms, investment funds, major corporations, and large companies, to promote investment into Vietnam.
  • Implement cooperation programs with VietinBank to provide comprehensive support to Thai investors entering the Vietnamese market.

2.3. Management and care of existing customers

  • Maintain regular contact and conduct periodic meetings with VietinBank's existing corporate customers in Thailand.
  • Update customers needs for business development, investment expansion, and new financial transactions.
  • Connect customers with VietinBank's ecosystem of products and services.

2.4. Participation in and organization of investment promotion activities

  • Proactively organize and/or participate in conferences, seminars, and business networking events that connect Thai enterprises with investment opportunities in Vietnam.
  • Represent VietinBank in enhancing brand promotion in the Thai market.
  • Strengthen VietinBank's brand image and position within the Thai business community.
  • Collect and report market information on Thailand, with periodic updates on:
  • Economic, financial, and trade developments in Thailand;
  • Investment trends, capital flow movements, and cooperation opportunities;
  • Legal and policy changes affecting Thailand's outbound investment and the banking sector;
  • Analysis and recommendations on business opportunities and potential risks for VietinBank.

2.5. Planning and reporting

  • Develop the medium-term business strategy and annual business plan for the Cooperation Office, aligned with targets relating to new Thai customers, potential customers, partners, existing customers, and the organization of/participation in conferences and events.
  • Prepare periodic work plans and monitor the implementation of KPI targets.
  • Prepare market analysis reports, assess trends in Thailand's outbound investment flows, and evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Submit regular and ad hoc reports to VietinBank Head Office.

2.6. Operation management of the cooperation office and establishment of the Representative Office

  • Apply for the establishment license of the Representative Office from the competent Thai regulatory authority, in coordination with VietinBank Head Office.
  • Manage the operation of the Cooperation Office to ensure efficiency and compliance with local laws and VietinBank's internal regulations.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Cooperation Office's operations, including finance, administration, human resources, equipment, and facilities.
  • Manage the filing and storage of records, legal documents, office lease agreements, employment contracts, and other relevant documents.

3. Candidate requirements

  • Must be a Thai national with deep knowledge of Thailand's local business culture, regulatory environment, and investment landscape.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in banking and finance, marketing, investment promotion, business development, or senior management at a multinational corporation, major financial institution, investment fund, or consulting firm operating in Thailand, preferably at Director level.
  • Demonstrate strong capability in connecting and building relationships with major Thai enterprises and leading market partners in finance, investment, and FDI support services.
  • Be fluent in Thai and English in a business environment; Vietnamese language proficiency is an advantage.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Thailand's investment market, with preference given to candidates who also understand Vietnam's business environment.
  • Have strong skills in customer development, negotiation, strategic partnership building, stakeholder management, and operation of a cooperation/representative office.
