About the Project

We are building an early-stage digital platform in the ticket resale / marketplace space, with a strong focus on trust, escrow, and fraud reduction.

We are currently in the validation + MVP phase, prioritizing:

  • learning fast
  • staying lean
  • building only what is necessary

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping products from zero, working closely with founders, and making thoughtful technical trade-offs before scaling.

Role Description

As a Part-Time / Fractional CTO, you will act as the technical owner during the MVP phase.

You will:

  • Translate business workflows into a practical technical architecture
  • Advise on and decide tech stack choices appropriate for MVP validation
  • Build the MVP hands-on or oversee freelancers / contractors
  • Define what should NOT be built yet
  • Set basic engineering standards, documentation, and structure
  • Act as a thought partner on feasibility, trade-offs, and future scalability

This is a decision-making role, not just an advisory role.

Scope & Commitment

  • Part-time / contract basis (approx. 1020 hrs/week, flexible)
  • Initial trial collaboration (13 months)
  • Clear path to full-time CTO / technical co-founder if there is strong mutual fit post-MVP

This structure is intentional and common for early-stage startups.

Qualifications / What We're Looking For

Must-have

  • Strong software engineering background (web or mobile)
  • Experience building early-stage products or MVPs
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements
  • Able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical founders
  • Pragmatic mindset: prioritizes learning, safety, and speed over perfection

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with marketplaces, fintech, escrow, or payments
  • Startup or solo-founder experience
  • Prior fractional CTO / tech lead experience
  • Familiarity with scalable architectures (even if not needed yet)

  • Low-ego, collaborative, and respectful
  • Prefers clear boundaries, written decisions, and thoughtful execution

Compensation

  • Paid (salary or project-based, pro-rated for part-time)
  • Founder-level equity with standard vesting
  • Final structure (cash / equity / hybrid) discussed transparently
