Lead, supervise and monitor complex, high-value and sensitive Property & Casualty claims from initial notification through final settlement and closure. Develop appropriate claim strategies by reviewing policy coverage, claim circumstances, quantum, deductibles, warranties, exclusions and other relevant policy conditions. Provide technical guidance and support to claims managers and claims handlers on complex Property, Business Interruption, Construction, Liability and related claims.
Coordinate with clients, insurers, loss adjusters, surveyors, lawyers, forensic experts and other professional service providers to facilitate claim resolution. Monitor claim progress, outstanding requirements and agreed timelines, and proactively escalate material delays or coverage issues to management.
Lead major claim meetings and negotiations with clients, insurers and other stakeholders to achieve fair and commercially reasonable outcomes. Review claim submissions, loss adjusters reports, settlement recommendations, reservation-of-rights letters and claim correspondence before issuance. Ensure that clients receive clear, accurate and timely advice concerning policy coverage, claim procedures, documentation requirements and settlement developments.
Work closely with Marine and Reinsurance Claims teams where claims involve multiple policies, international placements, fronting arrangements or reinsurance recoveries.
Establish appropriate controls, reporting processes and service standards for complex claims. Monitor claims performance, including claim ageing, outstanding claims, settlement progress, turnaround time and service-level compliance. Support client presentations, claim reviews, renewal meetings and business development activities by providing technical claims analysis and loss experience insights.
Identify emerging claim trends, recurring coverage issues and operational risks, and recommend improvements to policy wording, claims procedures and risk management.
Coach, develop and assess team members to strengthen their technical capability, client service and negotiation skills.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, professional standards and confidentiality obligations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Law, Engineering or a related field. Professional insurance or claims qualification, such as ANZIIF, CII, ACII, CPCU or an equivalent qualification, would be an advantage.
At least 12 years of relevant claims experience, including substantial experience in Property & Casualty claims. At least 5 years of experience in a managerial or senior leadership position.
Strong technical knowledge of Property, Business Interruption, Construction, Machinery Breakdown, Public Liability, Product Liability and other commercial insurance claims.
Experience in handling large, complex or high-profile claims involving loss adjusters, legal counsel, forensic experts and reinsurers. Strong understanding of insurance policy wording, coverage interpretation, claim reserving and settlement principles.
Strong leadership, decision-making, negotiation and stakeholder-management capabilities. Ability to manage multiple complex matters and work effectively under pressure and strict deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present technical matters clearly to clients and senior management.
Good command of written and spoken English and Thai.
