Job purpose :
- Development and implementation of CIMBT's strategies, initiatives and processes to assess and manage climate risks at portfolio and sector level
- Support initiatives and/or process improvement to ensure CIMB's compliance with the most up to date regulatory & standards requirements related to climate risk
- Promote adoption and integration of sustainability risk into Risk frameworks and methodologies, strengthen sustainability accountability and maintain an effective sustainability risk line of defense
- Drive the incorporation of ESG considerations, and in particular climate risk, into risk management decisions, working closely with Sustainability Team to upskill relevant teams within Risk Team
Key Responsibilities :
a) Climate Risk Strategy and Planning
- Work with Sustainability Team and Group Climate Risk to develop overall climate strategy, integrate climate risk throughout CIMBT business and oversea the performance
- Responsible for the integration of sustainability and climate risk in the Division
- Responsible to champion overall sustainability efforts within Risk Team, working closely with Sustainability Team in addressing concerns and requirements of internal/external stakeholder
b) Climate Risk Assessment & Management
- Assess the exposure, identify hotspots and manage climate risk in Bank's portfolio.
- Work with other units of Enterprise Risk and Infrastructure e.g. Modelling and Portfolio Analytics, Non-retail Credit Risk Analytics, Capital Risk and Regulatory Reporting and Data Management to develop and improve stress testing models.
- Support data and information as per required by CIMB Group
c) Climate Scenario Analysis & Stress Testing
- Work with Key Stakeholders to develop methodologies, identify climate scenarios and risk drivers, and manage and propose improvements
- Meet BOT requirements for Climate Stress Test
- Support CIMB Group on Climate Scenario Analysis & Stress Testing for both regulatory and internal purposes
d) Climate Data Analytics
- Identify a set of climate metrics for targeted and regular monitoring, early warning detection and reporting
e) Regulatory & Voluntary Compliance
- Ensure continual compliance with the latest sets of regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or relevant quantitative discipline
- At least 3-year experience in financial service-related industry or consultancy agency
- Excellent and proven ability to communicate effectively Knowledge about sustainability disclosure, climate risk or risk management
- Familiar with regulatory requirements and IFRS9 S2 (preferred)
