Cloud & Infrastructure Architect
Location - Thailand
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Design & Strategy
- Design and own the cloud and infrastructure architecture across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
- Define reference architectures, technical standards, and guardrails for cloud adoption.
- Lead architectural reviews, design workshops, and proof-of-concepts for new initiatives.
- Align infrastructure strategy with product roadmaps and business growth objectives.
Cloud Platform Engineering
- Architect scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Drive the adoption of cloud-native services including serverless, managed databases, and event-driven architectures.
- Define and govern networking architectures: VPCs, peering, DNS, CDN, load balancing, and zero-trust models.
- Oversee platform migration strategies including cloud lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecture programmes.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Champion IaC practices using Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK and establish reusable module libraries.
- Embed automation across provisioning, configuration management, scaling, and self-healing infrastructure.
- Define GitOps workflows and integrate infrastructure pipelines within CI/CD processes.
Security & Compliance
- Embed security-by-design principles across infrastructure: IAM, secrets management, data encryption, and network segmentation.
- Work with security teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, or industry-specific).
- Conduct threat modelling and infrastructure risk assessments for new architectural patterns.
Cost Optimisation & Observability
- Drive FinOps practices to manage and optimise cloud spend across engineering teams.
- Define observability standards including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting using tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Establish SLOs/SLAs for infrastructure services and lead capacity planning reviews.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor senior engineers and platform teams on cloud architecture patterns and best practices.
- Produce architecture decision records (ADRs) and maintain living architecture documentation.
- Represent infrastructure and platform concerns in cross-functional engineering forums.
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering roles.
- Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP considered).
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools — Terraform is essential.
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native application patterns.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Experience architecting and delivering large-scale, production-grade distributed systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — ability to present complex technical decisions clearly to engineering and executive audiences.
Nice to Have
- Multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architecture experience.
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) or eBPF-based networking.
- Experience with platform engineering and Internal Developer Platform (IDP) concepts.
Relevant certifications:
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Google Cloud Professional Architect, CKA, or TOGAF.
