Job Title: Infrastructure Cost & FinOps Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Cost & FinOps Analyst to drive cost governance, financial optimization, and infrastructure spend management across hybrid IT environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud and on-premises cost management, financial planning, infrastructure analytics, and FinOps practices. This role will partner with Infrastructure, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and leadership teams to improve cost visibility, optimize investments, and support strategic infrastructure decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and analyze infrastructure costs across cloud, private cloud, and on-premises environments.
- Establish and maintain FinOps practices, cost governance frameworks, chargeback/showback models, and financial accountability processes.
- Monitor and optimize cloud spending across AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, and other cloud platforms.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, resource optimization, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, financial plans, and infrastructure spend tracking reports.
- Create Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI), and business case analyses for infrastructure investments and cloud migration initiatives.
- Perform workload placement assessments to determine the most cost-effective deployment model between cloud and on-premises environments.
- Build executive dashboards, cost reports, KPI metrics, and infrastructure financial insights for leadership teams.
- Support vendor evaluations, licensing reviews, contract negotiations, and RFP processes from a commercial and financial perspective.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to improve cost transparency and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with financial governance standards, audit requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- 4-5 years of experience managing infrastructure costs across hybrid IT environments.
- 4-5 years of experience in FinOps, financial governance, chargeback/showback models, and cost allocation methodologies.
- 2-3 years of cloud cost optimization experience within AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, or similar platforms.
- 4-5 years of experience analyzing on-premises infrastructure costs including servers, storage, networking, licensing, maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
- 4-5 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and spend management.
- Strong expertise in developing TCO models, ROI assessments, and investment business cases.
- Experience creating financial dashboards, cost reporting, and executive-level presentations.
- Solid understanding of infrastructure technologies including servers, storage, virtualization, networking, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, Apptio, Cloudability, Flexera, or similar cost management platforms.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP), Cloud Financial Management, or relevant cloud certifications.
- Experience supporting large enterprise or regulated industry environments.
- Knowledge of governance, risk, compliance, audit controls, and infrastructure financial management best practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cost optimization initiatives across the organization.
