Key Activities & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine administrative tasks, manage capacity planning, execute backup and recovery procedures, and ensure high availability across all database platforms.
- Proactively monitor database health, performance metrics, and cloud infrastructure using centralized observability tools. Configure and respond to system alerts to ensure 24/7 reliability.
- Deploy new database instances, execute schema changes, migrate data, and apply critical security patches and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
- Work closely with programming and development teams to advise on database best practices, review code, and perform query/performance tuning to optimize system speed.
- Manage database user accounts, roles, and access permissions. Implement strict security protocols to safeguard sensitive data from unauthorized access.
- Ensure that data storage, access controls, data masking, and retention policies fully comply with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
- Participate in an on-call standby rotation to provide out-of-hours support for critical, high-severity database incidents and ensure business continuity.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 1 - 4 years of hands-on experience in Database Administration.
Core Technical Skills:
- Solid foundational knowledge of Oracle Database (experience with RAC / ASM is highly advantageous) and MS SQL Server.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL ,administration and architecture.
Cloud & Monitoring Skills:
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS/Aurora,Redis,DynamoDB,, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL).
- Experience using database monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Extended Events, Datadog, Zabbix).
Secondary Technical Skills: Basic understanding or willingness to learn NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) and other systems (MySQL, MariaDB, IBM Db2).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication skills to effectively advise development teams.
- Reliable and reachable during assigned standby periods.
We prefered if you have skills:
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Associate, Microsoft Certified, or PostgreSQL certifications).
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for task automation.
