Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Process Engineer to be embedded within our contract manufacturing (CM) ecosystem to oversee the assembly and test of high-speed optical transceivers (QSFP-DD, OSFP). This role is critical to ensuring that our external partners execute to our specifications regarding precision optical coupling, thermosonic bonding, and RF testing. You will own the transfer of new products from NPI to Volume production, ensuring that processes are robust, scalable, and meet rigorous quality standards.

  • CM Management: Serve as the on-site technical authority at assigned CM facilities; conduct process audits and drive corrective actions.
  • Assembly Process: Manage critical assembly steps, including lens attach, fiber attach, reflow soldering, and active optical alignment. Experience in die and wire bonding and active alignment.
  • Test Optimization: Oversee transceiver test workflows (TX/RX power, BER, eye diagram mask margin) to ensure test equipment correlation across sites.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize statistical tools (JMP/Minitab) to analyze yield data, identify root causes of failures, and implement permanent countermeasures.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in either field of Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineering roles, preferably in the electronics, semiconductor, optics, or hightech manufacturing environments.
  • A thorough understanding of the product and its manufacturing process. Handson experience with Front-of-Line (FOL) and End-of-Line (EOL) manufacturing processes, as well as assembly lines related to electronics, semiconductors, transceivers, and passive/active optical cables, is essential. Actual experience with die bonding, wire bonding, wafer processing, optical alignment, and module/package assembly is advantageous.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Thai are required, with proficiency in Chinese being a bonus.
  • Experience with high-speed RF testing (up to 800G) and optical test equipment.
  • Willingness to travel or be stationed at contract manufacturing sites

Skills

  • Data Analytics: Proficient in Minitab, JMP, and other similar tools for statistical analysis.
  • Risk Management: Experienced in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis techniques, including the 5 Whys and Fishbone diagram.
  • Project Management: Capable of managing qualification timelines and deliverables effectively.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills, able to maintain high standards at partner facilities.

Working Conditions

  • Serve as Resident Engineer in Fabrinet. Cucbicle should be located in CM site in Chonburi.
  • Typical working conditions are found in a climate-controlled, professional office environment. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.
