Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Production Support
- Serve as the primary manufacturing engineering contact at assigned CM sites; troubleshoot line stoppages, resolve manufacturing issues, and drive root cause corrective actions.
- Capacity & Throughput: Analyze cycle times, identify bottlenecks, and implement line balancing improvements to meet production ramp schedules
- Manage engineering change orders (ECOs), BOM revisions, and component substitutions at CM sites with strict configuration control
- Creation and Enhancement Quality Control Systems
- Develop and implement robust Quality Control plans, including in-process inspection criteria, statistical process control (SPC) methodologies, and final acceptance testing protocols.
- Set up BOM and MES-controlled process.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), including scrap, rework, and warranty claims
- Support the introduction and revision of Customer requirement, by PCN or MINIPIPs
- Develop Systems for Easy and Best-in-Class Manufacturing Strategy - 50%
- Champion the development and implementation of standardized engineering processes, tools, and templates to streamline NPI and reduce time-to-volume
- Identify and lead projects focused on process automation, mistake-proofing (poka-yoke), and digital transformation to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred,
- Minimum of 3+ years of product or manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within contract manufacturing, high-speed optics packaging field, with a product engineer role.
- Proven track record of successfully introducing multiple new products and managing customers in a manufacturing environment.
- Deep expertise in GD&T, statistical analysis, DOE, and validation methodologies
- Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders
- Good communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- Experience with assembly processes such as SMT, die attach, wire bonding, or fiber handling is highly preferred.
- Willingness to travel or be stationed at contract manufacturing sites
Skills
- Data analysis by JMP or Mini-tab.
- Familiar with Transceiver, OSA product structure.
- Prefer Similar Product Engineer working experiences in the past.
- Adaptability, Innovation, Planning and Organizing, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Continuous Improvement, Professional and Technical Knowledge and Skills, Reliable and Dependable, Results Oriented, Teamwork.
- Familiarity with test equipment integration and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
Working Conditions
Working conditions typical of a climate controlled and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, etc.
Serve as Resident Engineer in Fabrinet located in Chonburi, Thailand
