Overview:
The Commercial Director is accountable for company's sales & service operations in Thailand including Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. His/her initial focus will be to strengthen sales, service, customer support, and management teams by leveraging the Veralto Enterprise System (VES), while providing strategic vision, support, and most of all on-the-ground leadership for the OpCo/Platform team. He/she will keep regional leadership abreast of opportunities, competitive issues, and market/regulatory conditions, and drive total sales, service and profit growth, balanced against the necessary investment to strengthen and maintain a first-class market-leading commercial organization.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide vision and guidance to the sales/service organization to address competitive and changing market dynamics.
- Drive Organizational Objectives around 3 broad objectives:
- Shareholder Focused Metrics Core growth/revenue, margins
- People Demonstrate ability to attract, coach, retain and develop talent
- Customers Drive customer satisfaction related metrics (e.g. OTD, NPS, Quality) along with customer support and operations teams.
- Evaluate the current sales activities to identify areas of strength and assess those activities that must be improved to meet the demands of current sales, as well as future aggressive growth.
- Build country specific go to market strategy, implement and execute strategy.
- Access current service capabilities and strengthen those based on the gaps identified. Build service strategy followed with implementation and execution.
- Monitor technological changes, market trends, competitive products/pricing, and be a key participant in identifying and analyzing the products to be developed for and channeled to the marketplace.
- Achieve revenue objectives set forth by senior management by disseminating the budgeted performance goals and implementing value selling philosophy, sales funnels and action plans.
- Coordinate, prepare and implement sales and expenditure budgets; monitor actual vs. budgeted performance, implement corrective measures as appropriate; report goal accomplishment and variance analysis monthly.
- Lead and develop teams by establishing annual goals; hiring and training new associates; and coaching, monitoring and appraising individual performance through the use of policy deployment tools and improving processes with a focus on kaizen and continuous improvement
- Design and implement standards of accountability for others in the organization that can be used to focus, guide and set high standards of performance for others to achieve business results.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of and experience in an appropriate mixture in some of the following areas:
- 15+ years of progressive sales experience within an organization known for having a strong sales function. Experience as regional representative of an appropriate size western multinational office or sales subsidiary, including managing revenue and margin goals, with P/L experience and international reporting. Able to set and pursue a goal of sales revenue and profit maximization.
- Must have operating company leadership experience of an appropriate scale. Experience in B2B industry is highly preferred. Familiar with and capable of leading a business focused on high quality products and services. Experience in businesses serving similar customers or markets is a plus.
- 10+ years of sales management & people management experience, preferably managing managers who oversee team members.
- Able to deal effectively with, and present convincingly to regional/global corporate headquarters to get the support and resources necessary to successfully build the regional business.
Education, Skills & Competency Requirements:
- Preferably an MBA from a premier school, with an undergraduate degree in Technical or Engineering disciplines.
- High-potential performer with a solid track record of accomplishment and logical career progression. Proven ability to drive sales growth, customer expansion, and market share growth.
- Strong process orientation with a proven track record of profitable growth. Excellent reputation for leadership in value-based selling processes, Six Sigma, and account management.
- Must be a capable and effective communicator. Adept at influencing people with diverse interests, objectives, agendas.
- Thai language written and spoken will be an added advantage.
- Sense of ownership - a strong desire to make a personal contribution to the success of the overall l company.
- Ability to gain respect through stature, presence and strong leadership skills.
- Skilled at maintaining effective relationships with the key executives of each division.
- Adheres to the highest values in decisions and conduct.
