Commercial Finance Business Partner

Reporting to: Finance Director
The Commercial Finance Business Partner plays a key role in supporting the sales and commercial teams by providing financial analysis, business insights, and strategic recommendations to drive profitable growth. This position partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to manage pricing, profitability, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Business Partnering
- Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to drive revenue growth and improve profitability.
- Provide financial analysis and commercial insights on sales performance, customer profitability, product margins, and promotional activities.
- Support business decision-making through scenario analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Challenge and support commercial teams on pricing strategies, trade spending, and investment decisions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and business risks impacting profitability.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning processes for commercial functions.
- Analyze variances between actual results, budget, and forecast with clear action plans.
- Prepare monthly management reports, KPIs, and business performance presentations.
- Develop financial models for business opportunities, new product launches, and commercial initiatives.
Pricing & Profitability Analysis
- Monitor product costing, gross margins, and customer/channel profitability.
- Evaluate trade promotions, discounts, rebates, and commercial investments to ensure ROI optimization.
- Support pricing reviews and margin improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain teams to understand cost movements and business impacts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, or Business Finance within FMCG or manufacturing industries.
- Strong understanding of FMCG business dynamics, pricing, trade spending, and profitability analysis.
- Experience working closely with Sales and Marketing teams.
- Knowledge of product costing and manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
- Proficient in SAP, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel/Power BI.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong stakeholder management skills.
