Job Summary

The Compensation & Benefits Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing compensation and benefits strategies to attract, motivate, and retain employees within the retail business. This role ensures compliance with local labor laws, enhances employee satisfaction through competitive rewards programs, and provides guidance to management on compensation-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs aligned with the company's business objectives and market practices.
  • Manage salary structure, job evaluation, grading, and annual salary review processes.
  • Lead benefits administration, including health insurance, provident fund, leave policies, employee welfare programs, and other statutory benefits.
  • Conduct market benchmarking, salary surveys, and data analysis to ensure competitiveness within the retail industry.
  • Provide consultation and support to management and HR Business Partners on pay decisions, policy interpretation, and job offers.
  • Develop compensation models, budgets, and reports for management and executives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives related to rewards and recognition programs.
  • Manage vendor relationships with insurance providers, brokers, and benefits partners.
  • Lead and mentor the C&B team to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, preferably in the retail or service industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws, statutory benefits, and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in job evaluation, salary structure design, and benefits administration.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
  • Strong command of English (both written and spoken).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in managing regional or multi-site compensation structures within retail or similar industries.
  • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strategic thinking with the capability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
