Job brief
As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate manufacturing costs, analyzing cost variances, supporting customer quotations and business cases, and providing financial insights that help improve operational performance and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manage standard costing, product costing, manufacturing cost analysis, and variance analysis.
- Monitor inventory valuation, manufacturing costs, and month-end inventory accuracy.
- Analyze key cost drivers, including material, labor, overhead, scrap, and production variances.
- Prepare cost estimates and financial analyses for customer RFQs, new business opportunities, engineering changes, and sourcing changes.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and support capital expenditure analysis.
- Partner with Operations and cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support business case analysis, profitability assessment, and management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, internal controls, and SOX requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Cost Accounting, preferably within a multinational or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, manufacturing cost analysis, variance analysis, inventory accounting, and fixed assets.
- Experience with SAP or another major ERP system; Hyperion experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing, customer RFQ costing, or business case analysis is an advantage.
