Role Purpose:

The Country Lead, Talent & Excitement, plays a hands-on and strategic role in shaping the people agenda to support the growth and excellence of the luxury retail business. This role is responsible for ensuring HR operations run smoothly, delivering consistent, efficient, and high-quality support across multiple business entities in a matrixed environment. It partners closely with business leaders to drive operational excellence in HR, alongside talent acquisition, employee engagement, capability development, and a performance-driven culture that reflects our customer-centric values. Acting as a trusted advisor, this role ensures HR strategies and practices attract, develop, and retain top talent while continuously improving HR processes and service delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure end-to-end T&E operational processes (e.g. onboarding/offboarding, contracts, payroll inputs, benefits, data management) run smoothly, accurately, and on time, supporting multiple business entities in a matrix environment.
  • Ensure operational T&E processes are efficient, compliant, and continuously improved to support evolving business needs, including the identification and removal of process bottlenecks.
  • Define, localise, and enforce T&E policies and practices in full alignment with corporate guidelines, providing clear direction and governance to the T&E team and business.
  • Contribute to the achievement of budgetary and performance goals by ensuring T&E delivery is cost-conscious, efficient, and aligned to business targets and service excellence standards.
  • Anticipate and scale T&E support and resources in line with changing business volumes, organisation changes, and country-level operational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Regional Centres of Excellence (e.g. talent development, learning, total rewards, T&E systems and analytics) to operationalise and seamlessly implement programmes and tools at the country level.
  • Drive the successful localisation and implementation of global T&E programmes, processes, and initiatives, ensuring they are practical, understood, and consistently adopted.
  • Deliver relevant talent and operational insights through dashboards, data analysis, and regular reporting to support decision-making and monitor service levels.
  • Coach and empower the local T&E team to deliver consistent, high-quality operational support and strong partnership to the business.
  • Oversee country level office administration to ensure professional standards, cost efficiency, and business continuity are consistently upheld.
  • Support the Country Manager and local functional leaders in ensuring the country is equipped with the right mix of talent, both in capability and capacity, to deliver business strategies and targeted results.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify key talent gaps and contribute to forward looking workforce plans that enable sustainable business growth.
  • Deploy performance management and reward practices that reinforce a high performance culture, nurture top performers, and support acceleration of high potential talent.
  • Champion a positive and inclusive workplace culture that reflects the company's vision and values, in close collaboration with leadership.
  • Serve as a coach and advisor to local T&E teams and business leaders, role-modelling a values led and performance driven work environment.Contribute to the identification and prioritisation of key talent strategies and development plans for the current and upcoming fiscal years, aligned with long term business ambitions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent blend of relevant education and professional experience that supports successful job performance.
  • Possess at least 8 years of HR experience with a minimum of 3 years leading a team in a progressively expanding HR capacity, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Demonstrated strong expertise in HR administrative practices, HR systems/technology, and general HR practices.
  • Experienced in HR operations and business process improvement, with substantial involvement in reviewing processes to identify redundancies and inefficiencies.
  • Highly organized, have an ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines, have excellent negotiation skills, be self-motivated working under minimal supervision, and be service-oriented
  • Have a high degree of honesty and integrity, be proactive, have a high level of accuracy, have strong attention to detail, and demonstrate calmness and composure under pressure and in times of uncertainty
  • Able to lead with a practical, hands-on approach, serving as a role model and actively coaching the team.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership by inspiring and motivating cross functional teams in a unified direction with a shared vision, actively cultivating a #OneTeam mindset.
  • Have excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in labour law and industrial relations
  • Have good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Have a positive and professional attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing business
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and more.
