About the Role
The Country Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the logistics service provider's operations, business performance, and strategic growth. This role oversees transportation, warehousing, distribution, customer service, and business development activities to ensure operational excellence, customer satisfaction, profitability, and compliance with industry regulations.
The Country Manager works closely with senior leadership, customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders to drive business expansion, optimize supply chain processes, and maintain a competitive market position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's strategic plans, business objectives, and growth initiatives.
- Identify new business opportunities and market expansion strategies.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve organizational goals.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across logistics operations.
- Oversee end-to-end logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, distribution, inventory management, and freight forwarding.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources, assets, and logistics networks.
- Monitor service quality, delivery performance, and operational productivity.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Monitor revenue, profitability, and operational expenses.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Ensure achievement of financial targets and business profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
- Lead contract negotiations and service agreements.
- Develop business development strategies to increase market share and customer retention.
- Address customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Lead, mentor, and develop management teams and employees.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Manage workforce planning, recruitment, training, and succession planning.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with transportation, customs, safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
- Develop and implement risk management and business continuity plans.
- Maintain high standards of workplace health, safety, and security.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes impacting logistics operations.
- Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
- Provide regular management reports and business performance updates to executives and shareholders.
- Represent the company in industry meetings, customer engagements, and professional associations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
- Master's degree (MBA or related discipline) is preferred.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or related industries.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership or general management role.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale logistics operations and driving business growth.
- Experience with 3PL, freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation, or integrated logistics services is highly preferred.
