Job Description

Job Title: Portfolio Credit Risk Analyst

Location: Greater Bangkok - Pak Kret

Reports to: Associate Director of Credit Risk and Portfolio Management

About Us

We are a publicly listed consumer finance company (SET) with a mission to deliver essential financial services to the mass market, grassroots and underserved communities. Though now an established company, we retain our original startup spirits. We are on a mission to grow 10X over the next decade, thus needing a real doer to join our team.

Our culture is defined by pace and passion. We are a team of doers who learn fast and deliver, and we know our success is powered by our peopleour greatest asset. Our team of over 2,500 is fueled by the energy of young generations, who form the majority with an average age of 28, complemented and guided by the greatness of our experienced Gen Y leaders. We seek innovators who are ready to create and build, not just maintain. We value those who act, deliver, and drive real change.

This action-oriented approach makes collaboration central to our work. We believe strong relationships are built through daily in-person interaction, which is why we operate as a fully in-office team. Our environment is vibrant, agile, and results-driven. While we respect those who seek great work-life balance, we are not that place. We believe that creating anything truly great requires a dedication that mediocrity cannot match. We offer a place to accomplish in five years what might take others ten and make a tangible impact.

The Opportunity: A Guardian of the Portfolio at the Core of the Business

This is not a typical risk analyst role. You will be a strategic guardian of our entire title loan portfolio and a critical partner in our company's profitability and stability. We don't want passive analysts; we need you to dive deep into the data, challenge existing credit policies, and proactively identify risks and opportunities. With your highly analytical mindset, you will be the first line of defense, turning data into actionable credit strategy.

This role is a career accelerator. You will have direct exposure to the core drivers of our business and learn at an unprecedented pace. We are a pure meritocracy; if your analysis protects and optimizes our portfolio, your growth and impact will be limitless.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Analysis: Conduct rigorous analysis of our consumer finance portfolio to monitor credit performance, identify trends, and assess risk concentrations.
  • Policy Management: Develop, test, and recommend changes to credit policies, underwriting rules, and risk assessment models to optimize for risk and return.
  • Risk Modeling: Build and maintain risk models to forecast losses, stress-test the portfolio, and inform strategic business decisions.
  • Automated Performance Monitoring: Design and automate the tracking of key risk indicators (KRIs) and portfolio metrics through code, queries, and BI dashboards. You will have zero routine jobs creating old-style monthly reports; everything is automated.
  • Strategic Insight: Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations that will directly shape the company's credit strategy and policies.

The Ideal Candidate: A Profile of a Quantitative and Strategic Guardian

We are seeking a highly analytical and quantitative individual with an exceptional analytical mindset, high grit, and a passion for using data to solve complex business problems. The ideal candidate is a high-performer who is not afraid to challenge assumptions and feels a deep sense of ownership over the health and performance of the credit portfolio.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: 2-5 years of experience in credit risk, data analysis, or a highly quantitative role, preferably within consumer finance or banking. We will consider exceptional fresh graduates with a rare quantitative aptitude and determination.
  • Strong Educational Foundation: A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Expert-Level Technical Skills: You must be an expert in SQL and Python, with a deep understanding of BI tools like Power BI. We do not do manual reports; everything is done through code and dashboards. Basic skills like pivot tables and spreadsheets are not enough for this job. Your technical and analytical skills will be rigorously tested.
  • Demonstrated Commitment: A track record that showcases dedication and focus. We are for individuals eager to build with us for the long term.

Essential Qualities & Skills

  • High Grit: You have the resilience and perseverance to dig through complex data and push through difficult analytical challenges without giving up.
  • Exceptional Problem-Solving: A deep curiosity and a hypothesis-driven approach to identifying and mitigating credit risks.
  • Highly Logical & Quantitative: You have a natural ability to think in terms of numbers, probabilities, and systems. You are driven by data, not assumptions.
  • Rapid Learner: You are energized by new challenges and can quickly master new analytical techniques and the specific nuances of the title loan business.
  • High Level of Ownership: A proactive, founder mentality. You feel a deep sense of responsibility for the quality of our loan book.
  • Elite Communication Skills: A strong command of English is essential as you will report to foreign management. You must have the ability to distill complex quantitative analysis into clear, concise insights for senior leadership.
  • Low Ego, High Impact: You are a collaborative team player focused on driving results and protecting the company's assets.

Additional Requirements

  • This role is based full-time at our Headquarters in Greater Bangkok - Pak Kret.
  • We need hard workers. We believe that building anything great requires a level of focus and dedication that is incompatible with a conventional work-life balance. We explicitly reject this mindset because it does not lead to extraordinary outcomes. This is a role for those who are passionate about their work and are willing to dedicate the long hours required for deep, impactful analysis.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • The base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You will also receive access to comprehensive benefits, paid leave, and other company perks, which will be discussed during the interview process.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Our company is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, religion, gender, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other legally protected status.
