Job Description

Job Overview:

The Cyber Insurance Underwriter is responsible for the profitable growth and management of the Cyber Insurance portfolio. The role involves underwriting new and renewal cyber risks, developing broker relationships, providing technical expertise on cyber exposures, supporting product development initiatives, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with brokers, clients, risk engineers, claims specialists, and regional underwriting teams to deliver profitable and sustainable growth in the cyber insurance business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Underwriting & Portfolio Management

  • Underwrite new business and renewal Cyber Insurance accounts within delegated authority.
  • Assess cyber risk exposures, coverage requirements, and pricing adequacy.
  • Determine appropriate terms, conditions, limits, deductibles, and premiums.
  • Prepare underwriting referrals for risks exceeding authority limits.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

2. Business Development

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and key clients.
  • Identify business opportunities and contribute to portfolio growth strategies.
  • Conduct broker visits, product presentations, and training sessions.
  • Support marketing and distribution initiatives for Cyber Insurance products.

3. Operational & Compliance

  • Ensure underwriting decisions comply with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain underwriting documentation and system records.
  • Support audit and governance requirements.
  • Deliver accurate and timely management information and portfolio reports.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance. Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Experience: 5+ years of Cyber or Financial Lines underwriting experience or Cyber Security or Technology Risk & Consulting
