We are looking for a driven and analytically sharp Cyber Underwriter to join our growing Specialty Lines team. As cyber threats continue to evolve and demand cyber insurance, you will sit at the forefront of one of the industry's most dynamic and high-growth lines of business.
You will be responsible for underwriting a diverse portfolio of cyber risks from SMEs to large corporates while working closely with brokers, risk engineers, and our regional reinsurance partners. This is a role for someone who combines technical insurance expertise with a genuine curiosity about the digital risk landscape and takes responsible for achieving premium income including Profitable which are generating from Commercial business as per defined target GWP, CoR and perform underwriting functions according to company's policy and guidelines.
Your Day at Allianz Ayudhya
- Identify business opportunities in order to achieve defined team's target
- Provide underwriting portfolio analysis and coordinate with Oversea Technical Center for related Program including getting approval on some specific case (s) & solid benefit guidance to underwriting & distribution teams.
- Ensure that all business development and underwriting under designated responsibilities are performed in accordance with company's policy and service standards.
- Review current terms & condition of reinsurance allocation, risks accumulations, premium calculation, risks quality, previous loss experience in order to prepare renewal notice for new and existing clients.
- Review draft policy/endorsement R/I closing, if needed, after confirmation from client and proceed to related team for policy/endorsement issuance.
- Determine competitive terms & condition, reinsurance allocation, find facultative reinsurance support by obtaining support data from market in order to prepare renewal notice for existing client both renewal and new client
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal cyber insurance submissions across commercial and specialty segments
- Analyze applicants IT infrastructure, security posture, and incident history to determine risk quality and pricing
- Structure policy terms, conditions, sublimit, and exclusions in line with company appetite and reinsurance guidelines
- Develop and maintain strong broker relationships, serving as a trusted technical resource on cyber risk
- Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and risk engineering teams to monitor portfolio performance and emerging trends
- Contribute to product development and appetite refinement as the market evolves
- Stay current on threat intelligence, regulatory changes, and cyber loss trends across key industries
Must Have
- 8 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property, Liability, Financial Lines, or Tech E&O)
- Working knowledge of cyber risk concepts data privacy, ransomware, network security, regulatory landscape
- Minimum 5 years of experience in underwriting in non-Motor Insurance in related line of business especially in financial lines and Cyber
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risk submissions independently
- Proven ability to build and manage broker/client relationships
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Thai proficiency is a plus
Nice to Have
- Direct experience underwriting Cyber or Technology lines
- Exposure to APAC markets and understanding of regional regulatory environments
- Professional certifications such as ACII, CPCU, CISSP, or CISM
- Familiarity with security frameworks NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2
- Background working with probability and statistics to develop forecasts and projections
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and business functions
- Any AI-future skills e.g., ChatGPT, or CoPilot365, will be advantage.
