Job Description

Job Summary: This position will play a pivotal role in supporting GIA Thailand in the development and execution of its data analytics strategy and roadmap. By leveraging data-driven insights, the role aims to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness through data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the formulation of the annual risk-based audit plan by assessing key risks at the local business unit level and integrating input from the Group Office.
  • Support audit engagements through the development and execution of data analysis procedures using SQL, Python, and/or Power BI, with a focus on identifying key risks within the audit scope and generating actionable insights for the audit team and management.
  • Develop and maintain the GIA datamart and data pipeline.
  • Lead the development of dashboards and data visualisations to effectively communicate insights to audit stakeholders.
  • Design and implement advanced analytics solutions, such as unsupervised and semi-supervised machine learning, to detect unusual or anomalous patterns, to enable GIA to deliver proactive assurance to management.
  • Establish ongoing monitoring of key risk indicators through data analytics, supporting a proactive and continuous approach to risk identification and management.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on the integration of data analytics methodologies and tools across the GIA team throughout the audit lifecycle.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations through well-structured written reports and presentations, offering professional insights to support informed decision-making by management.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, collaborate to address risk exposures and enhance the effectiveness of internal controls.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree. Major in Computer Science / Data Analytics or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Over 5 years of experience in data analytics and/or data engineering.
  • Internal/external audit experience in the insurance, financial or a related industry would be an advantage
  • Professional certifications in data science/analytics or other relevant certifications.

Knowledge

  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools, including SQL, Python, and data visualisation platforms such as Power BI and Tableau
  • Experience in applying Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning techniques, such as unsupervised machine learning and graph analytics, is preferred
  • Knowledge of spark/ Databricks is preferred
  • Strong understanding and practical experience in the insurance industry, including the ability to contribute valuable insights into industry-specific risks and controls, are considered as advantage

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to analyse complex data sets, identify underlying issues, conduct thorough investigations, and draw well-reasoned conclusions

Capability of performing effectively under pressure, consistently meeting project milestones within defined time, cost, and quality parameters
