Job Description
KPMG Thailand is enhancing its technology consulting services and is currently seeking a Data Engineer with extensive expertise in Cloud Platforms. This position involves designing, developing, and managing advanced data pipelines and cloud-based analytics platforms to facilitate AI, machine learning, and enterprise data initiatives for clients within banking, insurance, and financial services sectors.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, AI/ML specialists, solution architects, data governance experts, and application specialists, to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready data solutions in cloud environments. In addition, responsibilities extend beyond technology, requiring cooperation with teams focused on business transformation, technology transformation, Legal & Compliance, ESG, Audit, and Medtech.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop comprehensive data pipelines, encompassing ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and quality monitoring processes.
- Establish and manage cloud-native data platforms—including data lakes, data warehouses, and feature stores—utilizing Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
- Provide support for solution architecture, conduct effort estimations, and communicate both technical and business benefits effectively.
- Engage with AI Engineers and Business stakeholders to analyze use cases and deliver actionable, data-driven solutions.
- Apply CI/CD principles within DataOps (and MLOps) frameworks to ensure scalable, robust, and automated workflows for data and models.
- Uphold stringent standards of data governance, security, and compliance in accordance with industry and regulatory frameworks such as BOT, PDPA, and GDPR.
- Enhance data workflows to improve performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability.
- Contribute to the deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancement of cloud-based data systems.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in STEM fields, including Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency both Thai and English communication.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in: Python and SQL for data engineering and analytics tasks, Designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, Utilizing distributed data processing frameworks (such as Spark, Dataflow, Databricks)
- Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS), including: Cloud storage, compute, and networking services, Managed data solutions (e.g., BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, AWS Redshift), Deployment and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudBuild, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Experience in AI/ML data preparation pipelines, feature engineering, and deploying production ML workflows.
- Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear business insights for stakeholders.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
