Data Governance & Security Specialist (Data Engineering Focus)
Job Summary: The Data Governance & Security Specialist (Data Engineering Focus) is a key individual contributor primarily responsible for operationalizing and monitoring data governance and data security frameworks across Amaze. This role ensures the company's data assets are secure, private, and compliant with PDPA regulations and internal standards, through active collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Complementing these core duties, the specialist will leverage their hands-on data engineering skills to embed governance and security principles directly into data pipelines and infrastructure, providing technical support and expertise as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance & Security Implementation:
o Apply, control, and continuously monitor data governance policies related to data quality, metadata, data lineage, and access controls.
o Implement and maintain robust data security measures, including data encryption, masking, and privacy-enhancing techniques across data platforms.
o Develop and automate technical controls and validation processes to enforce data governance and security standards within data pipelines and systems.
Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Alignment:
o Serve as a technical expert for data privacy (PDPA) and security compliance, ensuring all data operations adhere to regulations and company standards.
o Collaborate closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO), Cybersecurity Officer, Legal, IT, and various business units to align data handling practices, security protocols, and incident response.
o Communicate complex data governance and security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering a culture of data responsibility.
Technical Contribution (Data Engineering Focus):
o Utilize proficiency in SQL and Python to perform hands-on data engineering tasks such as building data quality checks, automating governance processes, and assisting with pipeline optimization and maintenance.
o Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles are integrated into data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions.
o Provide technical support and expertise related to data platform configurations, access management, and data flow best practices from a governance perspective.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in roles focused on data governance, information security, data quality, or cybersecurity compliance.
Strong, demonstrable understanding and practical experience with data privacy regulations, specifically PDPA in Thailand.
Proven hands-on technical proficiency in Data Engineering:
o Expertise in SQL and Python is essential for scripting and automation.
o Experience with cloud data platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM for security and access control.
o Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data pipeline development, data warehousing principles, and data modeling.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business domains effectively.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/A, CIPP/E, CDMP, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable.
