Data Governance Technical Lead
Position Summary
This role bridges governance policy with technical implementation. The Data Governance Technical Lead designs, prototypes, and implements secure data infrastructure (especially on GCP), ensuring data ingress, egress, and access controls are governed and auditable.
This person turns governance rules into enforceable cloud architecture.
Key Responsibilities
• Secure Architecture Design
o Design secure data flow architecture
o Implement:
- VPC Service Controls
- IAM policy models
- CLS (Policy Tags), RLS
o Define and document:
- Data ingress controls
- Data egress controls
- Data perimeter design
o POC & Technical Evaluation
Prototype governance tools:
• DLP scanning, Data masking, Tokenization
o Evaluate third-party governance tools (PIM, DLP, catalog, IAM)
• Monitoring & Audit Engineering
o Enable Cloud Audit Logs
o Build audit dashboards
o Detect abnormal behavior (mass query, suspicious export attempts)
o Automate alerting
• Governance Enforcement Automation
o Create automated policy enforcement scripts
o Implement:
- Tag-based masking
- Access approval workflow integration
o Support integration with:
- SAP
- Kissflow
- GCP
- E-commerce data feeds
- Other operation systems
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 4+ years in Cloud engineering or Data engineering or Security engineering
• Strong knowledge of:
o GCP (BigQuery, IAM, VPC, Audit Logs)
o Data warehouse security concepts
o RBAC / ABAC
o Data ingress/egress design
• Ability to design architecture diagrams
• Hands-on POC capability
• Must Understand
o Data exfiltration risks
o Data masking strategies
o Cloud perimeter security
o Audit logging frameworks
o Basic scripting (Python / SQL / Terraform preferred)
• Experience with:
o PDPA / GDPR compliance controls
o Data loss prevention (DLP)
o SIEM integration
o Zero-trust architecture
