Job Summary
This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of pricing data by auditing, cleaning, and validating datasets against competitor information. Analyze pricing gaps and provide insights to support commercial decisions, while improving data processes and collaborating with tech and business teams to enhance data quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Audit & Validation
- Perform daily cross-checks between internal pricing data and scraped competitor prices.
- Identify discrepancies in product matching, unit conversions, and promotional mechanics.
- Ensure data accuracy before it is used for pricing decisions.
Data Quality & Cleaning
- Detect and correct data issues such as incorrect SKU mappings, unit mismatches, outlier prices, and scraper errors.
- Maintain clear product matching and validation standards.
Competitive Gap Analysis
- Analyze pricing gaps versus competitors and highlight significant deviations.
- Summarize key findings and trends for management review.
Process Improvement
- Develop Excel-based or simple script-based tools to streamline comparisons.
- Improve audit efficiency and support enhancements to scraper accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with the tech team to resolve scraping issues and validate mapping logic.
- Communicate insights clearly to pricing and commercial stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, Pivot Tables, Data Validation; Power Query is a plus).
- Strong data cleaning and reconciliation ability.
- Basic SQL or Python (Pandas) is a plus.
- Understanding of HTML/CSS or VBA/Macros is a plus.
