We are seeking a technically accomplished and mission-aligned Data Science Engineer to work on our client project in healthcare. In this role, you will take ownership of data-driven solutions, design robust data pipelines, and work with real clinical data to make a tangible difference.
You will work cross-functionally with product managers, backend engineers, and domain experts to translate complex healthcare data into scalable tools and insights that drive strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Orchestration
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using modern tooling (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
- Collaborate with data engineers and scientists to integrate, process, and analyze large datasets while ensuring strict data accuracy and integrity.
Analytics & Data Storytelling
- Conduct in-depth exploratory data analysis (EDA) and build intuitive dashboards or reports using Apache Superset or similar BI tools.
- Derive deep insights about populations and healthcare trends.
- Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable stories for non-technical stakeholders and explain why they matter.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define data product requirements and deliver business-aligned outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and propose innovative ways to incorporate them into the StrongRoom platform.
- Write clean, well-documented, and reproducible code for both research and production environments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience delivering data science and analytics solutions in a commercial setting.
- Demonstrated success taking machine learning or analytics products from prototype to production.
- Proficiency in Python and core data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, etc.).
- Strong SQL skills with experience handling both relational and non-relational databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with modern data infrastructure, containerization, and orchestration (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Docker, Git).
- Experience with Apache Superset (or similar BI tools).
- Advanced Machine Learning is considered a strong plus.
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated data-ideally in healthcare.
- Experience in banking or similarly highly-regulated industries is also highly valued.
- Professional fluency in English (both written and spoken) with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to work strictly from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Bangkok time daily to provide reliable coverage and real-time collaboration with our Australian operations.
