We're looking for a passionate and skilled Data Scientist to join our founding team. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape our data strategy, analytical frameworks, and company culture. As an early team member, you'll have significant input into key decisions and the chance to grow with the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end data pipelines for self-collected wearable biosensor data (IMU, GPS, microphone)
- Lead data collection, labeling strategy, and dataset curation for pet biomechanical behavior analysis
- Develop preprocessing workflows for raw, noisy, real-world sensor data (alignment, filtering, windowing, feature extraction)
- Build and evaluate classification models for pet movement, posture, and activity
- Analyze biomechanical motion patterns from wearable sensors to inform model design and feature selection
- Define ground-truth standards and assist with dataset quality audits
- Collaborate closely with the founding team on data strategy and product roadmap
- Help establish data science best practices and standards
Qualifications
- Experience working with time-series data from sensors or wearables
- Strong understanding of data preprocessing for motion or biomechanical data
- Experience designing or working with custom-labeled datasets
- Familiarity with activity recognition, gait analysis, motion classification, or similar domains (preferred)
- Ability to reason about sensor placement, noise, and data validity
- Strong Python skills for data pipelines and model experimentation
- Comfortable working in environments where data, labels, and models are built from scratch
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments (preferred)
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently
Work Arrangements
- Remote position with flexibility to work as a side commitment
- Weekly online meetings during weekdays (evening time)
