Role Description
You will be part of an active group of data science and AI / ML practitioners that shape the direction of applied artificial intelligence of the organization and drive business growth in retail/e-commerce business. Projects such as ML-powered search engine, recommender systems, customer360, and demand forecasting. As a Senior Data Scientist for our new project, you will enjoy working with cutting-edge technology to uncover insights from large-scale of datasets and develop state-of-the-art machine learning models to solve real-world problems such as time-series prediction tasks.
Responsibilities
- Apply machine learning in core areas to meet business requirements and drive business growth.
- Build, validate, test, and deploy AI models and algorithms.
- Identify more business opportunities through big data.
- Communicate data-driven insights and solutions to business users.
- Communicate and provide solutions to the management level via data visualizations and presentations.
- Research and implement best practices to enhance existing machine learning infrastructure and process.
- Work with ML Engineer and data engineers to create end-to-end machine learning feedback loop and integrate it into various applications.
- Improve existing machine learning models both in terms of model performance and computing performance.
- Collaborate with a multi-functional agile team of ML Engineer, Data Engineer, UX / UI design, product management, and engineering to build new features/products/services that delight our customers
Qualifications
- BS (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical fields involving Machine Learning or equivalent technical experience
- Excellent understanding of AI/ML/DL and Statistics, as well as coding proficiency using related open-source libraries and frameworks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Significant proficiency in SQL, Pandas, Spark and languages like Python
- Familiar with various supervised and unsupervised models to uncover insights from large-scale of structured and/or unstructured data.
- Strong background in mathematics.
- Good communication skills to explain Data Science/ML solutions to non-technical people.
- Knowledge in retail business is a plus.
- Experience in Time-Series, NLP, image processing, search engine and/or recommendation system is a plus.
- Self-driven with willingness to learn and improve, outstanding structural thinking skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong written and communication skills in English
