We're looking for a strategic, business-oriented IP Planner to lead Makro's end-to-end IP commercialization from portfolio strategy and annual planning to product/category mapping, promotion integration, and cross-functional governance. This role suits someone who is commercially sharp, highly organized, and proactive, with strong capability to translate IP assets into real business value across FF, DGF, and Non-Food categories.
You will serve as the central IP business owner, ensuring alignment across Commercial, Trade, Marketing, Tech, Legal, and external IP licensors.
- Lead annual IP portfolio planning, evaluating potential IPs (Universal, Disney, Chef IP, etc.) and mapping them to categories, seasons, and promotional opportunities.
- Develop IP commercialization strategies across campaigns, OB products, promotions, hampers, monthly mechanics, and regional opportunities.
- Work with Commercial Teams to prioritize key items, plan volumes, estimate sales impact, and ensure category-fit and profitability.
- Plan and manage IP-driven product or SKU concepts, aligning with suppliers, OB teams, and relevant stakeholders for execution.
- Guide Marketing on IP usage direction (theme, tone, application boundary) while keeping business objectives and licensors guidelines aligned.
- Oversee IP performance KPIs, tracking uplift, traffic contribution, sell-through rate, customer acquisition, and category-level outcomes.
- Ensure strong governance by defining IP approval workflow, checklist, and usage control across teams.
- Liaise with licensors for strategy alignment, renewals, new opportunities, and multi-brand activations.
- Lead crisis or compliance escalation, working closely with Legal and the Contract Manager to resolve rights or usage issues.
- Continuously identify new IP business models, seasonal opportunities, and monetization pathways to maximize IP ROI.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in Licensing, Category Management, Retail Marketing, or Brand Partnerships.
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset with business planning experience.
- Demonstrated experience in product/category development or campaign planning.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong strategic thinking with ability to translate IP assets into business results.
- High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and presentation tools.
- Fluent English for communication with licensors and cross-team coordination.
