Job Description

The Deputy General Manager is a senior operations leadership role responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational direction across all five manufacturing facilities of CROWN Food Packaging (Thailand) PLC. The Deputy GM will work collaboratively with the GM to ensure integrated business excellence, operational efficiency, and alignment with corporate strategic objectives.

MULTI-PLANTS OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

  • Lead, develop, and oversee all five Plant Managers
  • Provide strategic direction and set clear expectations, accountability, and performance metrics
  • Conduct performance reviews, capability development, and succession planning
  • Establish corporate operational standards, policies, and procedures across all plants
  • Monitor aggregate facility performance metrics including production, quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Identify and facilitate cross-facility improvement opportunities and best practice sharing
  • Address escalated operational issues and ensure consistency in operational excellence across all plants
  • Drive continuous improvement through Plant Manager leadership
  • Support Plant Managers in achieving operational targets and improvement initiatives

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

  • Serve as the leader and head of Supply Chain function company-wide
  • Establish and execute supply chain strategy aligned with corporate objectives
  • Lead supply chain team including procurement, inventory management, and logistics
  • Build and develop supply chain team capabilities
  • Establish company-wide procurement strategy, vendor management policies, and supply chain standards
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and logistics partners
  • Oversee supplier selection, performance management, and strategic negotiations
  • Manage strategic supplier agreements and contracts to optimize cost and quality
  • Manage company-wide inventory optimization and logistics coordination across all plants
  • Ensure efficient supply chain execution, on-time material availability, and customer responsiveness
  • Monitor supply chain performance metrics and implement improvement programs
  • Coordinate supply chain support and execution with Plant Managers at each facility
  • Ensure supply chain resilience, business continuity planning, and facility operational support

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee company-wide R&D initiatives and new product development efforts
  • Provide strategic direction for R&D activities aligned with corporate objectives and manufacturing capability
  • Review R&D project progress, resource allocation, and outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional coordination between R&D, manufacturing, and other functions
  • Ensure manufacturing capability supports R&D initiatives and new products
  • Coordinate with Plant Managers on production trials and new product commercialization
  • Ensure R&D projects are feasible for manufacturing implementation at facility level
  • Support process improvement initiatives and knowledge transfer between R&D and manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Minimum 15 years progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations and solid understanding in commercial function
  • At least 8 years in senior management roles with multi-plant responsibility
  • Strong background in food packaging, FMCG, or related manufacturing industries
  • Experience in production, quality systems, supply chain, engineering, and EHS functions
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and food safety regulations
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with international quality standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, BRC)
  • Understanding of Thai labor laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills in Thai and English
  • Strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
