Job Description

Position: Deputy General Manager Finance & Accounting Division

Company: Our client, a leading global shipping and logistics company

Location: Bangkok (with coordination with Laem Chabang branch)

Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid (50% WFO / 50% WFH)

Salary Range: 130,000 160,000 THB/month (depending on experience)

Position Overview

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) will oversee the full spectrum of Finance & Accounting operations in Thailand.

This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal control, and compliance with corporate, regional, and statutory standards.

The position reports directly to the Regional Headquarters in Singapore and leads a team of approximately 20 accounting professionals across AR, AP, and Corporate Accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Lead and oversee all finance and accounting functions (Corporate & Liner Business).
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 20 accounting staff including 2 Managers (AR & AP).
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve accounting and financial issues.
  • Ensure local accounting practices comply with corporate, regional (Singapore), and statutory requirements.
  • Review and improve accounting systems and workflows for greater accuracy and efficiency.

Financial Operations & Control

  • Approve and verify all payment transactions and accounting records.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Manage and monitor AR/AP processes, cash flow, and capital expenditure.
  • Oversee tax compliance (CIT, WHT, VAT) and liaise with external auditors and banks.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are implemented and maintained.

Budgeting & Planning

  • Consolidate annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with related departments.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Support management in achieving business and financial objectives.

Projects & Coordination

  • Lead finance improvement projects such as Withholding Tax Payable, Container Deposit, and ONE Finance initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Regional HQ (Singapore), Global HQ, auditors, and financial institutions.
  • Provide management with strategic financial reports and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in finance and accounting with 2+ years in management roles.
  • Strong expertise in corporate accounting, taxation, financial control, and budgeting.
  • Experience in multinational or shipping/logistics businesses preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on leadership approach.
