As the Deputy Head of Network, you will serve as a key senior leader driving network design/operations, reliability, and service management across the APAC region. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between engineering, operations, and security, ensuring our enterprise network services remain highly available, resilient, and fully compliant with strict financial industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Governance: Direct and govern network operational standards, policies, and control frameworks for the entire APAC region.
- Lifecycle & Vendor Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of network assets, including telecommunication services, software licensing, maintenance agreements, and vendor performance evaluations.
- Risk & Compliance: Uphold strict adherence to internal security protocols, risk management frameworks, and external regulatory audits.
- Service Reliability (SRE): Champion continuous improvement initiatives to maximize the resilience, uptime, and observability of all network services.
- Performance Metrics: Define, establish, and track key reliability metrics (SLIs and SLOs), developing comprehensive alerting systems, automated reporting, and service health dashboards.
- Operational Excellence: Spearhead automation strategies, rigorous root cause analysis (RCA), and proactive problem management to mitigate operational risks and boost efficiency.
- Security Partnership: Collaborate closely with Information Security teams to drive robust network vulnerability, patch compliance, and remediation programs.
- Service Transition: Guarantee smooth deployments by ensuring strict operational readiness and supportability requirements are met for all new network projects.
- Executive Leadership: Act as the primary APAC liaison for network reliability and governance, managing executive reporting and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Engineering, and Business units to execute strategic service enhancements.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience:10+ years of progressive experience in Network Infrastructure, Network Operations, or IT Service Management.
- Leadership:5+ years of proven leadership experience directing regional or global technology teams.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of enterprise networking environments, spanning LAN, WAN, Data Center architecture, Cloud connectivity, SD-WAN, and Network Security.
- Service Management: Demonstrated success in technology lifecycle planning, service governance, and vendor management.
- ITSM Proficiency: Strong practical knowledge of ITSM principles (Incident, Problem, and Change Management), alongside modern monitoring and automation practices.
- Compliance Acumen: Proven track record of navigating complex regulatory, risk, and audit requirements within large, enterprise-scale organizations.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management, executive communication, and leadership capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working within the Banking or Financial Services sector.
- Strong command of ITIL practices and operational governance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience deploying and utilizing advanced network monitoring and observability platforms.
- Practical knowledge of network automation technologies and scripting languages.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, ITIL, or equivalent credentials.
