PWC engines are equipped with on-board data recorder solutions (FAST /DCTU) that transmit wirelessly engine full flight data to PWC Ground station File Processing Center for data processing and reporting for diagnostic and health management analysis to determine applicable engine maintenance tasks. The DPHM Ground team is developing applications to process engine full flight data and generate multiple reports and dataset distributed to various consumers.
DPHM Ground team is looking for software engineers responsible to develop, upgrade, maintain, and support our new cloud-based ground software applications . The candidate will participate in the agile development of applications complying with the DPHM business logic and the proposed solutions from PWC IT solution architects.
The candidate will participate to all phases of the ground software engineering life cycle including concept definition, requirement development, implementation, test, deployment, system verification and validation and maintenance.
Required qualification and skills:
- Bachelor/Master of Science in Software Engineering, or Computer Science
- Minimum of 5-8 years experience in design, development and support of software applications and services
- Excellent Object-Oriented Programming skills in Python
- Proven AWS serverless technology experience and knowledge
- Experience with Scrum/Agile sotware development process, proficient in Azure Devops and Git tools for software configuration management and version control.
- Hands-on with unit testing, test automation, Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD
- Knowledge of Message Queue Systems specially Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams is an asset.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English is mandatory.
- Good team player and highly motivated, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Role and responsibilities:
- Design and update software applications to accommodate new designs described by PWC developed application software requirements.
- Create and update design specification documents including class diagrams for new developments.
- Responsible for the development and execution of software verification procedures and unit testing procedures.
- Deliver complete application documentation (design, code review, test procedures, test results, delivery packages)
- Participate in continuous investigation of application in-service issues.
- Design and update software applications to implement fixes/enhancements to the applications for continuous improvement.
