Digital UI/UX Designer

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our team and drive the creation of elegant and functional user interface and experiences for our financial products (trading, or payments). In this role, you will play a pivotal part in a fast-paced environment, focusing on researching, designing, prototyping, and improving our products to meet market and client needs, ultimately helping us expand our customer base.

You will be collaborating closely with Software Engineers and the Product Manager through agile sprints to own the product and deliver solutions as a team. You need to be adaptive to new concepts and iterative designs, especially in our early-stage solutioning process. This role reports to the Design Lead and offers the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally in a supportive and innovative setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and inform design decisions.
• Develop a comprehensive design system and UI library, and effectively communicate its principles, best practices and guidelines to the team.
• Transform requirements and/or wireframes into high-fidelity designs and prototypes across both web and mobile platforms.
• Gain an understanding of the product and the fintech industry to empathize with and enhance the user journey.
• Explore future development and design strategies to continuously enhance the product.
• Collaborate with the design team to advance the long-term department vision, improve internal design processes, and raise the bar for product quality.

Requirements

• A portfolio (Website, PDF, Google Slides, Figma, etc.) that demonstrates your design process, including wireframes, final designs, and user flows. We prioritize evaluating your actual work experience over the number of years in the field (approximately 3+ years).
• Excellent UI/UX design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
• Able to identify opportunities for change, to reduce inefficiencies and improve experiences; to drive behaviour.
• Familiar with Web, iOS and Android design guidelines, with the ability to present relevant successful case studies.
• Proficiency in design tools e.g., Figma
• Communication skills (verbal, written and visual) - you are confident in articulating your design rationale, presenting user flows, and documenting design decisions.
• Critical thinking skill - You ask insightful questions and analyse information to develop your own perspective.
• Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and effective time management.
• Have a tertiary qualification in a design discipline like visual communication, industrial design, HCI, product design, User Experience or similar.
• Familiar with agile processes and workflows.
• Prior startup experience is a big plus.
• Able to work in fast paced environment, methodically and meet deadlines.
