Director- Industrial Development

Position Summary

The individual will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving strategic initiatives within the Government and Public Sector Advisory practice, specifically focusing on Industrial and Infrastructure Development Advisory (IIDA). This position requires strong leadership capabilities, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to influence and engage senior government officials. The role emphasizes building trusted relationships, driving business development, and delivering high-impact advisory solutions aligned with KPMG's values and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Advisory

• Lead strategic engagements with government clients, providing thought leadership and actionable insights to address complex policy, governance, and transformation challenges.

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior government stakeholders, influencing decision-making and fostering long-term partnerships.

• Drive innovation and strategic thinking in solution design, ensuring alignment with client objectives and emerging trends.

• Provide domain-specific advisory in areas such as MSME development, industrial growth strategies, trade and commerce facilitation, and investment promotion.

Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with senior bureaucrats, policymakers, and institutional leaders, ensuring high levels of trust and credibility.

• Represent KPMG at high-level forums, conferences, and government interactions to strengthen brand positioning.

• Navigate complex stakeholder environments with diplomacy and professionalism.

Business Development & Growth

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Government and Public Sector domain, leveraging networks and market intelligence.

• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, proposals, and presentations for large-scale government programs.

• Collaborate with leadership to achieve revenue targets and expand KPMG's footprint in strategic sectors.

Team Leadership & Development

• Mentor and guide teams to deliver high-quality advisory services, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

• Build capability within the team through knowledge sharing, training, and performance management.

• Ensure adherence to KPMG's risk management and compliance standards.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of MSME ecosystems, industrial development policies, trade and commerce frameworks, and investment facilitation strategies.

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to conceptualize and implement innovative solutions for complex government challenges.

• Leadership: Proven experience in leading large teams and managing senior-level client relationships.

• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of government functioning, policy frameworks, and public sector dynamics.

Qualifications & Experience

• Postgraduate degree in Management, Public Policy, Economics, or related fields from a reputed institution.

• 12+ years of experience in consulting, advisory, or leadership roles with significant exposure to government and public sector engagements, particularly in MSME development, industrial growth, trade facilitation, and investment promotion.

• Demonstrated track record of managing complex projects and driving business development initiatives.
