Job Scope :
We are looking for an experienced Director – Test & Product Engineering to lead the engineering organization supporting new product introduction (NPI), product industrialization, test engineering, manufacturing engineering, and continuous improvement across our EMS operations.
The role will partner closely with customers, R&D, operations, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure products are successfully transferred into production with high quality, manufacturability, test coverage, cost competitiveness, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Product Engineering, Test Engineering and NPI Engineering teams across multiple customer programs.
- Own the engineering strategy for NPI, product industrialization, DFM/DFT, test development and production readiness.
- Act as a key technical interface with customers and their engineering/R&D teams.
- Drive DFM, DFA and DFT reviews to improve manufacturability, reliability and cost.
- Lead development and deployment of functional test, ICT, flying probe, boundary scan, automated test and inspection solutions.
- Ensure robust product transfer from customer design to mass production.
- Establish engineering standards, processes, tools and best practices across manufacturing sites.
- Drive yield improvement, test coverage, first-pass yield, cycle-time reduction and engineering cost optimization.
- Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex product and manufacturing issues.
- Identify opportunities for automation, AI, digital engineering and smart manufacturing to improve productivity.
- Develop and implement engineering KPIs covering NPI performance, yield, test coverage, quality, cost and delivery.
- Build strong technical capability and succession pipelines within the engineering organization.
- Lead cross-functional teams for complex customer escalations and high-priority programs.
- Support quotation and business development activities through technical feasibility, CapEx, tooling, test strategy and engineering cost assessment.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
- 15-20 years of relevant experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, ODM, OEM or semiconductor-related manufacturing environments.
- Strong experience in NPI, Product Engineering, Test Engineering and manufacturing engineering.
- Proven experience managing large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of PCBA, SMT, box build and electronic product manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on knowledge of ICT, FCT, AOI, SPI, AXI, flying probe and automated test systems.
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFT, NPI, process validation and production ramp-up.
- Experience working directly with international customers and customer engineering organizations.
- Strong project management, problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Experience in automation, robotics, AI/ML or Industry 4.0 will be an advantage.
