About the Company
Our client, a leading company in the FMCG sector, is seeking a visionary Director of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE Director) to establish and drive a world-class safety culture across all manufacturing plants, supply chain operations, and corporate functions. This role is pivotal in shaping safety strategies, ensuring compliance, and safeguarding the well-being of employees while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement safety vision, strategies, and policies aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Set long-term safety goals, performance metrics, and continuous improvement plans.
- Advise executive leadership and the Board on safety performance and risk management.
Operational Management & Efficiency
- Oversee safety programs across multiple sites, including manufacturing plants, logistics operations, and offices.
- Monitor safety KPIs, including LTIR (Lost Time Injury Rate), TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate), near-miss reporting, and audit results.
- Implement advanced safety systems, risk assessments, and digital reporting tools to improve transparency and efficiency.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire safety managers and site safety teams across multiple facilities.
- Build strong safety capabilities through structured training, awareness campaigns, and leadership development.
- Foster a proactive, accountable safety culture at all levels of the organization.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with Thai and international safety standards (OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, HACCP, GMP, etc.).
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills.
- Establish robust processes for hazard identification, risk mitigation, and employee health & wellness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR, and Supply Chain to integrate safety into all business processes.
- Collaborate with external agencies, regulators, and industry associations to benchmark best practices.
- Support new product launches, plant expansions, and capital projects with robust safety frameworks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related fields.
- 15+ years of experience in safety leadership within FMCG, food manufacturing, or industrial sectors, with at least 5 years at a senior executive level.
- Proven track record in establishing and transforming safety cultures in large organizations.
- Strong experience in multi-site operations management.
- Deep knowledge of Thai safety regulations and global standards (ISO 45001, OHSAS, HACCP, GMP).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in Thai and English, both written and spoken.
