We are looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to join us. This position is responsible for managing a lean end to end procurement for a specific group of materials in the direct sourcing area (i.e. raw material, general goods, mechanical goods) He/ she will work closely with the sourcing manager to drive the efficient and effective implementation of sourcing strategy to support business units. The role will also act as the first point of contact for suppliers, hold accountability of supplier relationship, supplier operational performance in a day-to-day basis, to maximize the total value, and ensure no supply disruption in their area of responsibility.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage the assigned direct materials portfolio against the key measurement within the Commercial and Production strategy.
- Liaising with Sourcing manager to provide the category inputs, co-build the sourcing strategy, and to implement buying portfolio strategies to meet with company objective.
- Work with Sourcing buyer/ manager to get market knowledge, trends and developments and provide price forecasts, risk assessments and price standards related to supply and/or quality.
- Effective management of the direct materials budget against the operating plan budget. This includes analyzing PPV and work with sourcing buyer/ manager to identify the action plan to close the gap.
- Negotiate and manage pricing agreements for non-strategic materials, conduct preliminary supplier audits and review supplier qualifications to comply with company compliance
- Support and where necessary, lead, supplier quality improvement initiatives through the SAP S4/HANA.
- Carry out the supplier performance review with related parties, monitor supplier reliability performance and drive the supplier performance to meet our identified targets.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with global / regional/ strategic buyer, local logistics team, R&D and operations.
- Ensure effective communication through the business on relevant purchasing information, new suppliers, market trends and cost saving initiatives to the units.
- Active participation in integrated planning and new development programs critical to ensure raw material availability.
- Work with strategic buyer and internal stakeholders to drive implementation of COGS programs to maintain or enhance product quality, provide efficiencies and reduce total delivered costs.
- Leverage our suppliers capabilities to improve procurement process.
- Work with internal clients and suppliers to support new product launches, line extensions, and execution of continuous improvement program.
- Provide necessary analysis report to corporation and handling costs into buying strategies and executive decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor or higher in Accounting, Business, Logistics or related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in procurement field with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Have knowledge and experiences of SAP S4/HANA system
- Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development and compliance
- Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skill with analytical thinking and initiative
- Good command of English
- Ability trave 10% - 20% of time in TOAP Thailand and Overseas Business
