Director of Sales & Marketing

Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort

Job Purpose

To position the hotel as the market leader through appropriate sales and marketing initiatives and to ensure the hotel product and services align with the positioning and brand promise created through marketing communications. To provide leadership in all selling activities within the hotel, working closely with the Rooms, Food and Beverage and other revenue-generating departments to maximize sales through the activities of the Sales Department and other associates.

Responsibilities

  • To develop, implement, maximize, monitor and evaluate the hotel's Sales & Marketing Strategy (goals, tactics and actions) to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue figures in Rooms, Food and Beverage, and all other revenue generating departments.
  • To ensure S&M activities are aligned with the Corporate Strategy and actions have been implemented where appropriate.
  • To represent the S&M function on the hotel's Leadership/Dept. Head Committee
  • To oversee the preparation and update of individual Departmental Operations Manuals.
  • To conduct regular divisional communications meetings and ensure departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary.
  • To review S&M files and systems to ensure correct booking procedures, contractual agreements, room block analysis, credit and payment documents, etc.
  • To maximize associate productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business and expectations of the guests.
  • To strategically analyze business performance to facilitate accurate and meaningful forecasting, involving the respective Heads of Department as appropriate.
  • To proactively manage all the S&M resources and funds, and control departmental costs.
  • To review and evaluate the effectiveness of Sales & Marketing activities and adjust as necessary to achieve or exceed the objectives as outlined in the Annual Marketing Plan.
  • To ensure all contracts signed by or on behalf of the Sales and Marketing Department follow the established hotel policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Thai Nationality
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant area
  • 7+ years of experience in a leadership role in Sales & Marketing
  • Proven records of excellent performance and strategies driven
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Thai
  • Proficiency with technology and computer skills
