Position Summary: The Director of Tennis / Head Pro is the visionary and hands-on technical leader of the BISA Tennis Academy. This individual is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing a world-class tennis program that develops players across all ages and skill levels, from foundational 'baby tennis' to elite student-athletes and adult programs. The Director will establish the academy&aposs on-court philosophy, personally coach top-level players, manage the coaching staff, and be the driving force behind BISA&aposs reputation for tennis excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design, implement, and manage the complete BISA tennis curriculum for all programs, including the full-time academy, after-school programs, junior development ('baby tennis'), and adult clinics.
- High-Performance Coaching: Serve as a primary on-court coach for the academy&aposs top-performing student-athletes and elite players.
- Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of high-performance tennis coaches, establishing a consistent and high-quality coaching methodology across the entire program.
- Player Pathway Management: Develop and oversee the player pathway, providing clear benchmarks for students on both the US college and professional tracks.
- Talent Recruitment: Lead the talent identification and recruitment process for new student-athletes.
- Tournament Strategy: Create a strategic annual tournament calendar for BISA players and oversee the hosting of on-site tournaments.
- Holistic Integration: Work collaboratively with the Head of S&C and academic staff to ensure a truly integrated development plan for each student-athlete.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years of high-performance tennis coaching experience at national and international levels.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role such as Director of Tennis, Head Pro, or Head of Tennis at a reputable international academy, federation, or high-performance club.
- Proven Track Record (Non-Negotiable):
- Demonstrable success in developing and placing multiple junior players into top NCAA Division I-III university programs, specifically with athletic scholarships.
- Verifiable experience as a primary coach or traveling coach for professional players who have achieved a Top 200 ATP or WTA ranking.
- International & Multicultural Experience: Must be accustomed to working with students and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience coaching in multiple countries is a significant plus.
- High-level coaching certification (e.g., ITF Level 3, PTR/USPTA Master Professional, or equivalent) is required.
- Deep understanding of the US college tennis recruitment process (NCAA eligibility, UTR, recruiting timelines).
- Experience managing a team of coaches and developing comprehensive training programs from grassroots to elite levels.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills. Fluent in English.
