Director - Provident Fund (PVD) Strategy & Business Development
Location: Bangkok
Role Purpose
Own and drive the PVD business strategy and commercial outcomes endtoend-spanning market development, corporate client acquisition, referrer ecosystem, retention strategy, product positioning, and member engagement-while ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations and internal governance. The role is accountable for sustainable AUM growth, revenue, client experience, and team leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Define the PVD vision, strategic roadmap, and annual operating plan (AOP) with clear AUM, revenue, and productivity targets.
- Translate strategy into channel plays (direct/partnership/referrer), segment plans, and GTM motions.
- Establish policies, SOPs, and workflows to ensure operational discipline, scalability, and audit readiness.
- Lead crossfunctional steering with Investment, Product, Legal/Compliance, Operations, Finance, and Marketing.
- Represent the function in management meetings and relevant committees; prepare executive materials and dashboards.
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Lead enterpriselevel acquisition: map target sectors, build executive access, and run structured pursuits.
- Orchestrate RFP/Tender lifecycle: qualification, winthemes, TOR responses, pricing rationale, and pitch delivery.
- Build and professionalize a highquality referrer network; set partnership frameworks and performance cadence.
- Position differentiated value propositions (governance, investment capability, member outcomes, service model).
Client Relationship & Retention
- Serve as executive sponsor for key accounts; deepen stakeholder ties (HR, finance, fund committees).
- Run portfolio and performance reviews; align mandates, benchmarks, SAA/TAA perspectives with investment teams.
- Implement retention playbooks: early risk flags, renewal strategy, crosssell/upsell pathways, and reference building.
- Advise on fund rule establishment/amendments and related legal documentation in coordination with Legal/Compliance.
Communication & Member Engagement
- Oversee thought leadership, member education (financial literacy), and investment updates with a compliancefirst lens.
- Ensure clarity and completeness of clientfacing documents, proposals, and contract packages.
- Support brand integrity and reputation management across stakeholder touchpoints.
Compliance, Risk & Governance
- Enforce adherence to laws, regulatory guidelines, and internal governance (incl. antimisselling standards).
- Partner with Legal/Compliance on document accuracy, disclosures, suitability, and recordkeeping.
- Maintain robust risk registers and remediation plans; ensure readiness for audits and regulatory reviews.
People Leadership
- Build and mentor a highperformance team; set goals, competencies, and coaching rhythms.
- Strengthen hiring bar, succession planning, and talent density across the function.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Investment, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- Relevant securities/fund management licenses.
- 10-15 years in PVD/asset management/institutional business; minimum 5 years in senior leadership.
- Proven AUM growth track record, RFP/Tender wins, and strategic client management at enterprise scale.
- Demonstrated success building referrer/partner ecosystems and leading crossfunctional execution.
- Strategic acumen with strong commercial orientation and execution discipline.
- Executivelevel communication and influencing skills (Thai & English).
- Mastery of committeelevel presentations, negotiation, and stakeholder governance.
- Strong command of regulatory context and compliant sales frameworks.
- People leadership: coaching, performance management, and change leadership.
