Lead and implement EHS initiatives ensuring compliance with corporate and local regulations while driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental management systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement EHS initiatives, programs, and activities to ensure compliance with corporate and local legislative requirements
- Monitor, review, and approve contractors permit to work to meet safety compliance objectives
- Track and report progress on EHS and Fire Safety objectives and targets
- Liaise and coordinate with government authorities on EHS and Fire Safety matters
- Report site EHS activities and updates to Corporate EHS teams
- Educate employees continuously on environment, health, and safety awareness
- Evaluate and monitor risks related to hazardous chemical processes and exposures, ensuring effective control methods
- Assess environmental hazards and waste management risks, implementing control measures to mitigate environmental impact
- Ensure EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) objectives are met and collaborate with departments for continual improvement and awareness programs
- Conduct periodic EHS inspections, track corrective actions, and analyze inspection data across departments
- Assess and advise on Risk Assessments (RA) and Environmental Aspect Impact (EAI) for compliance with local regulations
- Coordinate and organize Company Emergency Response Drills on site
- Assist Facility Safety Manager (FSM) in managing CERT and First Aid members
- Ensure Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) and EHS policies remain relevant and compliant with local legal requirements
- Manage contractor and visitor EHS compliance and implementation
- Coordinate investigations of work-related injuries, lead accident prevention efforts, and close identified safety gaps
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in OSH, EHS, or Fire Safety
- Experience managing active safety programs in the manufacturing sector preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and documentation preferred
- MOM registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification is an advantage
- Proficient in MS Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team player
