Role Summary: A Leading Korean Conglomerate is seeking a highly experienced EHS Set-up Lead to spearhead the design and implementation of the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) management system for our new manufacturing facility in Thailand. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance, achieving ISO certifications, and establishing a world-class safety culture from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- EHS Framework Design: Provide comprehensive support for the overall design and establishment of the EHS system within the Thailand factory.
- Policy & Strategy Development: Establish and manage EHS policies, manuals, procedures, KPIs, and annual audit plans.
- Regulatory Leadership: Serve as the statutory Safety Officer Professional and lead the operation of the Safety Committee and EHS Committee.
- ISO Management: Oversee the full implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 (EMS) and ISO 45001 (OHSMS) standards.
- Consultancy & Permit Management: Manage external consultants for environmental permits, ESA/EIA, and factory licensing processes.
- External Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies, industrial estates, the DIW, waste management vendors, and certification bodies.
- HQ Reporting: Provide regular EHS performance reports and strategic updates to the Korean headquarters and expatriate management.
- Audit & Readiness: Ensure EHS readiness prior to mass production and lead responses to client-led EHS audits.
- Environmental Assessment Management: Oversee and directly manage ESA (Environmental Site Assessment) and soil/groundwater contamination surveys.
- Emergency Response Leadership: Develop emergency scenarios (fire, chemical leaks), organize the emergency response unit, and establish the communication network.
Qualifications:
- Requirement (Must-have):
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental/Safety/Chemical Engineering or related fields.
- Certification: Certified Professional Safety Officer (under Thai law).
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in EHS, specifically within the Chemical-handling manufacturing industry.
- Standards: Proven track record in implementing or managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Practical level in English for business communication and documentation.
- Mobility: Must be able to travel to South Korea for the business/training purpose.
- Preferred (Nice-to-have):
- Experience in industries such as CCL, PCB, Electronic Materials, Chemicals, Coating, Resin, or Plastics.
- Prior experience working with Korean or Japanese manufacturing companies (Proficiency in Korean is a plus).
- Hands-on experience in EIA/Permit coordination and management.
