What You'll Do

The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting and enforcing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This role helps maintain a safe and healthy workplace by identifying risks, implementing preventive measures, conducting training, and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance across the site at plant.

As an EHS Specialist, you will:

  • Supervise and support daily environmental, health, and safety activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; recommend and track corrective actions.
  • Lead safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain EHS records, reports, permits, and documentation.
  • Monitor and improve site safety performance metrics and environmental compliance indicators.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and HR teams to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response planning.
  • Review new equipment, processes, and facility changes for EHS impacts.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
  • Assist in waste management, hazardous material handling, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Coach supervisors and employees on hazard recognition and risk reduction.
  • Support workers compensation case management and return-to-work programs, where applicable.
  • Analyze EHS data and prepare regular reports for management, agency office and customers.
  • Implement corrective actions for KPI deviations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • First aid room management.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
  • 3–7 years of experience in EHS, manufacturing safety, industrial safety, or a related field.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001 and other applicable EHS regulations.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety principles and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead training and influence safe behaviors across all levels of the organization.
  • Effective report writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
