We are part of Seagate's Systems engineering organization, responsible for delivering software applications and services that enable consistent intuitive management and user experience across Seagate's Systems product portfolio. About the role - you will:

Join a team of software engineers in Seagate's System group that focuses on providing an enterprise class end user experience to our Systems products. This role provides the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain application software on embedded platforms. Responsibilities span the full software stack, from operating system services through user-facing interfaces. The broader team brings a diverse skill set and maintains a strong commitment to engineering excellence and code quality.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of command-line interfaces used by customers to configure, manage, and monitor disk array systems.
  • Design and implement high-quality embedded application software, leveraging test-driven development and best engineering practices.
  • Triage, debug, and resolve issues identified during continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate closely with quality and test organizations to identify and resolve defects in a timely manner.
  • Partner with geographically distributed team members to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 2+ years of experience, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 0+ years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Solid experience developing production-quality software in Linux-based, embedded, or systems environments.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented software programming like C++, Java with experience designing and implementing service-based or API-driven architectures.
  • Working knowledge of software development lifecycle best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
  • Ability to debug issues across multiple layers of the software stack, including application logic, operating system services, and inter-process communication.
  • Experience collaborating with test, validation, and quality engineering teams to diagnose and resolve defects.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $82,305.60 - $117,694.72. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
