Job Description
- Technical Due Diligence (Solar and Wind)
- Conduct engineering reviews of project design, drawings, and technical documents.
- Assess project feasibility, technical risks, and compliance with standards/codes.
- Review equipment specifications (PV modules, inverters, WTGs, transformers, etc.).
- Prepare technical and contract review sections of due diligence reports (TDD).
- Ensure adherence to local codes, international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC), and HSE requirements.
- Site Assessments & Inspections
- Participate in site visits for construction monitoring, commissioning, and operations review.
- Verify construction progress, quality workmanship, and equipment installation.
- Prepare site visit reports with observations, NCRs, and required corrective actions.
- Identify non-compliance during design reviews or site visits and provide recommendations.
- Project Monitoring & Reporting for the owner's engineering
- Track project milestones, construction progress, testing & commissioning activities.
- Review weekly/monthly progress reports from EPC/contractors.
- Identify delays, technical issues, and propose engineering solutions.
- Support the preparation of periodic monitoring reports for lenders/investors.
- Coordinate with EPC, OEMs, and construction teams for technical clarifications.
- Evaluate mechanical civil engineering aspects related to renewable projects.
- Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare professional presentations and summaries for client updates.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical inputs.
- Check the compliance of technical deliverables submitted by contractors.
- Support in creating punch lists, NCRs, and follow-up close-out.
- Data Analysis & Performance Assessment
- Analyze production data, SCADA/monitoring data, and performance ratios.
- Support evaluation of energy yield deviations and root-cause analysis.
- Assist in modeling and energy yield assessments for solar project (PVsyst preferred but optional).
- Internal Support & Knowledge Management
- Support internal templates, tools, and knowledge database development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Execute wind and solar technical due diligence and owner's engineering, both desktop and site works;
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills;
- Be able to write a report in English (academic consulting style);
- Communicate with clients and internal teams across the region and be able to discuss, explain, and simplify their technical area (Mechanical);
- Integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job;
- Perform other duties as directed (that might not be related to their field of expertise).
Qualifications
- Master or Bachelor degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, industrial etc.);
- Good learning skills and open mindset;
- 2 years experience in the wind or solar industry, with experience on technical due diligence is a plus;
- Fresh graduate Master degree is welcome;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate highly complex engineering, construction, and operational issues to lay people;
- Fluency in Microsoft Office products;
- Fluency in English and local language;
- Valid Driver's license with an insurable good driving record; and
- Willingness to travel extensively within Thailand and ASEAN countries (up to 40% is expected).
