The role defines market strategies for type approval, aligns technical programs and evidence packages with regulatory requirements, and coordinates testing and third-party agency support.

  • Gain deep familiarisation with the product and the evidence base from OEM testing undertaken for initial certified markets.
  • Assess and align related technical development programs (e.g., emissions calibration changes, hardware changes, hot/cold/altitude validation) to ensure outputs support homologation requirements.
  • Define European registration and type-approval approach for finite volumes (e.g., Small Series / Individual approval routes), covering both Stage I manufacturer requirements and full certification.
  • Define and execute homologation plan for GCC markets (GSO-based), including required test documentation and evidence packages.
  • Assess target-market regulatory requirements and required documentation; build a structured market-by-market view of ease/difficulty and required pathways.
  • Evaluate need for third-party agency support; develop RFQ and coordinate selection of 23 candidate agencies to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
  • Provide technical input to related certification initiatives (e.g., IVA-type programs for other vehicles) as required by business priorities.
  • Support engineering change management, field actions and technical communications that impact certification status and compliance evidence.
  • Ensure that after-sales activities (service repairs, retrofits, field modifications and parts replacement) do not compromise vehicle homologation or regulatory compliance.
  • Support investigation and resolution of regulatory or certification issues identified in the field, including vehicle registration challenges or regulatory authority inquiries.
  • Ensure that vehicle modifications performed by converters, body builders or integration partners remain compliant with applicable homologation requirements and certification scope.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in target markets and assess potential impact on GFS vehicle programs and certification requirements.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Strong homologation / certification experience in automotive, ideally across multiple geographies (Europe and/or GCC exposure preferred).
  • Ability to interpret and translate regulatory requirements into test and documentation plans.
  • Experience coordinating test programs (hot/cold/altitude, emissions, durability) and managing technical evidence packages.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement across OEM partners, modifiers, regional teams and external agencies.
  • Clear technical communication to non-technical stakeholders
  • Regulatory Diplomacy & Persuasion
  • Risk-Based Decision Making
  • High-Level Technical Communication
